Punt is, dat vrijwel geen enkele shaman de totem gebruikt wegens onbruikbaarheid in de praktijk. Veel te duur voor insignificante schade, plus massive aggro.

Kortom, een soort van AoE, die elke 2 seconden 22 fire damage doet aan alles wat binnen 8 yards staat.
Alleen, dit genereert net zoveel aggro als een AoE spell van bijv. een mage.
Dit zou eerlijk zijn, omdat het allebei AoE.

Probleem is alleen, de totem heeft 5 hp en is *duur* om te casten.

Hoe lang denk je dat die totem staat?

En de reden dat je het vergelijkt met mages AoE is ? Je kan niet alles gelijk trekken Kan me voorstellen dat het in sommige gevallen nuttig is maar een damagedealende spell zoals de mages die hebben is het niet (en moet het ook niet worden imho)

Ik weet niet hoor, ik denk dat dit net zoiets is als onze tranquellity (group-heal). Je hebt er normaal niks aan, maar als het op een gegeven moment fout gaat smijt ik BS aan, smijt tranq neer en aggro daarmee elke mob in een dikke straal door heal-aggro. Daarna beer om te incasseren.

Iedereen heeft wel spreuken die ze niet of weinig gebruiken. En vraag 2 is wat je dan wil doen. AoE zonder aggro ? Meer health op de totem ? (wat in beide gevallen overpowered zou zijn...)

Nou, vroegâh, toen trok de magma-totem geen aggro. Hij doet ook niet veel damage, maar is verschrikkelijk duur.
Je gebruikt hem eigenlijk alleen maar tegen veel kleine mobs (zoals die planten in WC).
Voor de rest is hij niet echt krachtig. Maar omdat hij nu *aggro* trekt, kan 1 plantje de hele totem ongedaan maken.
Kortom, ik moet eerst mn hele manapool leegspammen om ze allemaal te taggen en *daarna* kan ik pas de totem droppen.

Ik gebruik de totem zelf niet, maar vond het wel grappig dat de devs de totem AoE hetzelfde vinden als een mage AoE.
Vergeet niet, dat de AoE maar 8 yard heeft en dat de totem daar ook binnen valt. Mages kunnen van een afstandje een AoE afvuren, als je door de totem geraakt wordt sta je er nooit meer dan 1 stap vanaf.. en 1 klap of je aller-aller-laagste spell is voldoende om hem te dismissen

de AoE die mages vanaf een afstand gooien is afaik niet zo krachtig (blizzard afaik)

Daarnaast, ziet er ook uit als een goede AoE versterker. Als een mage gaat aoe'en, smijt je die totem erbij en (en dit is het leuke: ) gaat iets anders doen (mage levend houden ofzo....) Mages moeten hun aoe channelen, jij afaik niet

True that, je kan hem natuurlijk wel als amplifier gebruiken
Alleen dan moet je wel even midden in de groep die ge-AoE'd wordt gaan staan en hem dan droppen.
Maar goed, dat bedoelen ze vast met 'There are clever ways in which a Shaman can use this particular totem, and its up to the player to discover such tactics'.

Is niet echt te vergelijken met Mage AoE imho. Je trekt de aggro naar je totem, niet naar je zelf, dus dat is voordelig. Als een mage een zelfde soort AoE spell zou doen, (blizzard is het best te vergelijken, 720 dmg over 8 secs zonder talents op ons level) dan is ie een sitting duck. Als je beweegt of je wordt geraakt dan houdt de spel net zogoed op -> daaag mana + damage + (massive) aggro.

Ik vind het wel eerlijk dat de 1 AoE's met elkaar vergeleken worden.

Best thing I heard wasn't really referring to druids, but a random Alliance whining about Shamans.

We was going on and on about how bad Shamans were overpowered, when he brings this one up:

Him: "Dude, wtf, that shaman just turned into a cat and went into stealth. They are sooo overpowered."

Me: "Okay, that wasn't a Shaman, it was a druid."

Him: "No it wasn't it was a Shaman, I saw."

Me: "Was it a Tauren, by chance."

Him: "Yeah."

Me: "Then it was a druid. Taurens can be druids."

Him: "No, it wasn't dude. It was a Shaman, I saw. They are so overpowered!"

I gave up after awhile, but it took 3 other people to convince this guy that it was, in fact a druid, and not another of the Shamans wonderful abilities.

You should have seen me yesterday, lvl 41 and soloing SM cath.
See those monkeys (or monks for that matter) fall when I chain-earth shock them 900 dmg crits, while slowing them down simultaniously with my instacrit 1200 dmg frost shock.
Killed mograine with a 3k windfury proc, died because I had 20 adds. Np though, instarez myself with 100% health and mana and finished them all off with chainlighting shooting out of my armpits while waterbreathing. In ghostwolf form.

Following situation: The son (S) of the programmer (F) responsible for the horde characters in WoW had discovered that is father was cheating on his mother. F: Hmm Okay, mail armor it is and you can place various Totems aswell.
S: Err ... what do these Totems do?
F: Well, they can heal or make damage or they make your armor stronger and they'll work for your whole group.
S: So, how many do I have?
F: 20 diffrent, bur you can only use one at a time.
